Regulatory requirements. In accordance with Section 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the Government’s policy is to acquire items composed of the highest percentage of recovered materials practicable, consistent with maintaining a satisfactory level of competition without adversely affecting performance requirements or exposing employees to undue hazards from the recovered materials.
Ordering data. Purchasers should select the preferred options permitted here and include the following information in procurement documents:
(a) Title, number, and date of this CID.
(b) Material and finish of hook.
(c) Markings required.
(d) Packaging and packing required.
(e) If Certification of load and finish requirements is acceptable in lieu of actual lot by lot testing.
Notes.
The issues or revisions of ANSI A156.16, ANSI A156.18, and MIL-STD-105 in effect on the date of the invitation for bids or request for quotation shall be used to determine compliance with these requirement.
THE COMMERCIAL ITEM CERTIFICATION CLAUSE IS NOT REQUIRED WHEN THIS COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION IS USED FOR PROCUREMENT.
