COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
KEYCHAIN, REEL, (DOOR AND DRILL CHUCK KEYS)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description, for all Federal agencies.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers key chain reels for door and drill chuck keys.
2. CLASSIFICATION
2.1 Classification. The keychain reels shall be of the following types as specified in the contract or order.
Type I - Key ring, with belt loop.
Type II - Key ring, with belt clip.
Type III - Drill chuck key, with mounting plate.
3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
3.1 The key chain reels shall consist of a case, spring, chain and ring or chuck key as applicable. All types of key chains shall be corrosion resisting steel or chrome.
3.2 The size of the reel case shall be not less than 2 inches nor more than 2-1/2 inches in length, width or diameter.
3.3 The key ring shall be not less than 1-1/4 inches in diameter.
