Workmanship. The webbing strap shall be free from defects which may affect appearance and serviceability.
Part Number. Straps conforming with this commercial item description shall be identified by a part number configuration consisting of identification of the document number, the width code and the minimum length in inches. Width and length less than one inch shall be expressed in decimals. An example of the part number configuration is shown below.

Tensile test. The buckle and end clasp shall be properly engaged. The strap shall be mounted in a properly calibrated testing machine with the buckle near the center when the heads of the machine are 12 inches apart. Apply a tensile load of 100 pounds for a duration of not less than 30 seconds.
Quality Assurance Provisions. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
Sampling.
Lot. All straps of the same size presented for acceptance at one time shall be considered a lot for purposes of inspection.
