6.4 Historical design. Historically, the following materials have proven satisfactory for the construction of the muffler clamps:

6.5 Cross reference data. Clamps conforming to this document are interchangeable-substitutable with clamps conforming to MS52150. The CID dash numbers and the MS dash numbers are the same, expect that the duty and style notations have been removed. The duty is now represented by the dash number (-1 through -23 are standard duty, -24 through -41 are heavy duty), and the clamp style is up to the discretion of the manufacturer.
