NOTES:

1.  Material:  (A)   Yoke, Spring Housing - Corrosion resisting steel per ASTM A666.

(B)   Springs, Wire, Spring per SAE-AMS-QQ-W-428 and ASTM A228/A228M (springs concealed).

(C)   All remaining parts - Carbon steel per QQ-S-698.

2.  Finish.  Carbon steel parts - Cadmium plate per SAE AMS-QQ-P-416, Type II, Class 2.

3.  Remove all burrs and break all sharp edges.

4.  Dimensions in inches unless otherwise specified, Tolerances:  ± .015.

5.  Tension:  Standard spring tension with .125 deflection to 1.562 dimension = 70 pounds.

6.  This assembly is made for use on containers with overlapping edges, containers with even mating edges require the use of shims.

7.  Ultimate strength: 300 lbs for strike, 600 lbs for catch.

8.  For design feature purposes, this standard takes precedence over documents referenced herein.

9.  Changes from previous issue.  Marginal notations are not used in this revision to identify changes with respect to the previous issue due to the extent of the changes.
