REQUIREMENTS:
1. MATERIAL: For -2 steel, tubing, carbon (1020) in accordance with SAE AMS-T-5066.
For -3 and -8 steel, strip, carbon (1020) in accordance with SAE AMS 5046. For -4 and -7 steel, bar, carbon (1018) in accordance with ASTM A108.
For -6 steel, plate, carbon (1020) in accordance with ASTM A827/A827M.
2. PROTECTIVE FINISH: Cadmium plate per SAE-AMS-QQ-P-416, Class 2, Type II; paint two coats zinc chromate primer per TT-P-1757 and two cover coats orange yellow gloss enamel per Master Painters Institute, Reference #9, Alkyd, Exterior, Gloss, (MPI Gloss Level 6).
NOTES:
1. Dimensions are in inches. Unless otherwise specified, tolerance: Decimal .XX - ± .03,
.XXX - ± .010, Angle ±1°.
2. Remove burrs and break all sharp edges R .015 max.
3. Welding shall be in accordance with AWS D17.1.
4. For design feature purposes, this standard takes precedence over procurement documents referenced herein.
5. Changes from previous issue. Marginal notations are not used in this revision to identify changes with respect to the previous issue due to the extent of changes.
