4.3.2 Bid sample test. Bid sample padlocks shall be tested in accordance with
4.6.2 and 4.6.3.6.
4.4
First article inspection.
4.4.1 Sampling for first article. When a first article is required for locks
that were inspected as bid samples, refer to paragraphs 3.2.2 and 6.2.1.1.
4.4.2 First article tests. The first article shall be subjected to the tests
as specified in 4.6.2 and 4.6.3.6 (see 6.4). Failure of any test shall be cause for
rejection.

Quality conformance inspection.
4.5.1
Sampling.
4.5.1.1 Sampling for examination. Sampling for examination shall be in
accordance with ASQ Z1.4 (see 6.2.1.2).
4.5.1.2 Sampling for tests. Padlocks shall be randomly selected from the lot
submitted for acceptance in accordance with ASQ Z1.4 (see 6.2.1.3).
4.5.2 Examination. Samples selected in accordance with 4.5.1.1 shall be
examined for defects as specified in 4.6.1.
