COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
HASP, HINGED
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this
Commercial Item Description in preference to Federal Specification FF-H-111,
Types F1401C, F1401E, and F1403E.
This commercial item description covers safety hinged hasps with adjustable staple and steel pin.
Salient Characteristics:
The hasps shall be in accordance with Table I and ANSI/BHMA A156.20.
The hasps shall be made with wrought steel in accordance with BHMA Standard No. 1301, finish US2C or US2G.
When closed, the hasps shall conceal the mounting screws.
All fastening hardware required for attachment shall be included with the hinges. Furnished hardware shall be of suitable size and be compatible with the material and finish of the hinge.
The hasps shall withstand the strength test for hasps when tested in accordance with Section 6 of ANSI/BHMA Standard A156.20.
The hasps shall be in accordance with table I.
The dimensions shall be measured in inches with equivalent millimeters in parentheses (mm)

The tolerances for the closed length shall be +1/16 inch (1.6 mm)
Workmanship. Hinged hasps shall be free of sharp edges and burrs. The hasp shall be free of defects that will affect appearance or serviceability.
The issues of ANSI/BHMA Standard A156.20, BHMA Standard 1301, and ANSI/ASTM F476 in effect on the date of the solicitation shall be used to determine compliance with stated requirements.
